The Genoa Chamber will sponsor the
Village’s 2nd Annual Holiday Parade
on Sunday, November 25th at 6:00 p.m.
The Holiday Parade will start at Veterans Park traveling North on Washington Street, then west onto 9th Street, next turning South on Main Street and ending at 6th Street along side Town Hall. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Santa’s Elf will arrive in the Old Steward Fire Truck driven by Genoa Fire Chief Randy Miller. The Genoa High School Marching Band will accompany the floats providing festive music for the event. The lighting of the Village Christmas Tree will take place immediately following the Parade and then children, families, and friends will be invited to visit the Genoa Fire Hall for hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies. From inside the Fire Hall, those wishing to visit Santa will be line up and be escorted to the Town Hall’s Winter Wonderland!!
If you are interested in entering a float in the Holiday Parade you can pick up the rules and sign-up form from either the Genoa Administration building or print it from the link below. The Holiday Parade is open to all within the Genoa School District.
The Genoa Chamber will be sponsoring a Christmas contest for the Village’s “Best Decorated Home” and the Village’s Best Decorated Business”. We are asking the residents and businesses to decorate their homes and buildings by November 25th in hope of enhancing the Holiday Parade festivities. Judging on all homes and businesses will be on Sunday, December 9th (no sign up is required). All judges selected will reside outside of Genoa. Prizes will be awarded to the Best Floats, Decorated Homes, and Decorated Businesses.
