Mark D. Williams was born in Oregon, Ohio and raised in the greater Toledo area. Mark is a graduate of Genoa High School (1989). Mark and his wife Tammy have three boys Brennen, Caleb, and Kaiden. Mark has been involved in various sports programs with his sons.
Mark was elected to Council in 2006 and appointed Chairperson of the Economic Development Committee. As the chairperson, Mark Williams was instrumental in promoting and pushing the creation of a Farmers’ Market for the Village. He also served on the AdHoc and Streets and Sidewalks Committees.
In 2007 Mark ran for Mayor and was elected. As mayor, Mark is responsible for the budget and staffing of the Village. Additional responsibilities include the appointments of Council members to various committees (AdHoc, Economic Development, Finance & Insurance, Personnel, Safety, Streets & Sidewalks and Utilities).
The Mayor is also the Safety Director for the Village. As Safety Director, the Police Department reports directly to the Mayor. The mayor works with the Police Chief and Fiscal Officer to prepare an annual budget for the department.
